The Indonesian Society of Respirology (ISR) is a non-profit organization with offices found in many city across Indonesia. The ISR was founded in 1973 in the field of respiratory and critical care medicine. The organization publishes Jurnal Respirologi Indonesia as its scientific publication along with books and guidelines as well as hosting national and regional scientific and public events. The organization's membership is made up of medical professionals and scientists working in the area of respiratory and critical care medicine. The subject covered by the ISR are, and not limited to: asthma; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); lung and mediastinal cancer; respiratory immunology and interstitial lung disease (ILD); pulmonary hypertension; lung infection including tuberculosis; interventional pulmonary medicine; emergency and critical care medicine; sleep medicine; environmental lung disease and tobacco control; and precision medicine and research.

Sources of Support

The Department of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine is one of 31 belonging department in the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia. The department was established according to the Decree of the Dean (SK Dekan) No. 1599/II.A/FK/1978 dated 1 September, 1978.

The aim of the Department is to produce a professional pulmonary clinical health provider which is able to conduct a world class and competency-based medical service as an effort to improve community health status, to perform a world class medical research and to improve the level and quality of Indonesian’s health status.
